Pocket tray in laburnum root and solid apple wood. The piece of root presented here had to be reinforced with a few touches of apple tree to form a rigid whole.

I was lucky enough to acquire a root stock of this superb species which has no reason to be ashamed of some tropical woods. It comes from a garden whose owner considered the tree too cumbersome, note that the apple tree comes from the same place.

Laburnum is one of the hardest and densest woods in Europe. However, it is not suitable for food use.
